Driving Tour of Victoria BC

The city of Victoria is by itself a learning experience. Taking a friends advice to be economical, I rented a car and navigated the streets myself.

I found that the streets of Victoria have very distinct personalities which may at any moment change completely. Without the aid of a native driver to guarantee my prompt arrival at my hotel, I spent several hours discovering that my sense of direction was seriously flawed.

On the other hand, it may be that the original founders had anticipated my need for diversion and intentionally designed this place to be a disarmingly delightful surprise.

With each bend in the road, the street would even take on a different name to help remind me that I was definitely on my own. Even with a map, I kept finding myself in a different neighborhood that I had intended.

Along the way, I relaxed and eventually stumbled upon a few unanticipated gems that won me over and forever made me an admirer of this charming city.

Unplanned Events Are Often the Most Enjoyable
by: Craig

While planning (especially when on vacation) can guarantee many wonderful experiences, I have also found that sometimes those spontaneous, unplanned happenings can produce the greatest treasures. You just have to be open to what life (or new places) hand you, you know?
